Video Gaming Technologies, Inc. (VGT) has developed an updated version of the popular Cherry 96 game, and will be the sole distributor of the game as part of its VEGA$ Jackpot$™ product line for the Illinois video gaming machine market.
The previous version of Cherry 96 had a combination of appealing game play and popular graphics that helped it stand out from other products. “We were looking for a way to connect with Illinois players rather than just bringing in games that may have worked in other states,” said Illinois Sales Manager, Frank Fortunato. “So in addition to building a custom game set with input from Illinois players, we asked Illinois operators what we could do to create interest. Their answer time and time again was that they would like to see a game like Cherry 96.”
Cherry 96 has been integrated into the VEGA$ Jackpot$™ game suite and will be compliant with all applicable laws and regulations under the Illinois Video Gaming Act. The addition of Cherry 96 marks VGT’s latest step in creating a custom product specifically for the emerging Illinois market. VGT has already achieved several other custom solutions, including the design of a new gaming cabinet, the development of market-specific games and the inclusion of popular “eight liner” games in its product suite.
“Illinois represents a major opportunity for VGT,” said company founder and CEO, Jon Yarbrough. “Some of our competitors view this as just another gaming market. VGT, however, used feedback from both Illinois players and operators. This effort, combined with our experience in creating multi-game platforms for over 20 years, led to the development of the new games in VEGA$ Jackpot$™ tailored specific for the Illinois market.”
